Personally, I would much rather shoot myself than suffer through a terrible illness - and then die. Why make you and your family go through all the heartache (and not to mention money). Way to control your own destiny Dr. Thompson. If only others were so brave.

I think I have read everything HST has ever written (probably missed a few recent articles). His writings were one of the greatest influences in my life (if I had to name names). His writing style and evolution as a writer was great to read and study. The fact that he lived his life wholly on his own terms was a great inspiration.
