NeoCon Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 09:24 AM : You are a Bolchevik Someone. Move to Cuba and live in a workers paradise. Or maybe you can move to France and tap into that Welfare state.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 10:06 AM : Isn't there another difference NeoCon? Clinto was not at war at the time of both of his inaugurations. Should he, as the president set an example of meagerness, sacrificing the pomp because our troops could use the funding? But no, he has to have his big bloody show.
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 10:57 AM : Nothing is as easy as blaming all the wrong in the world on Clinton is that not so Slick Willy? If Bush got his act together on 9-11, those 2 buildings would still be standing. But the guy was (and is) a spinless wimp, so they let the whole thing happen in order to cast him as a "war president" what a bloody (literal in this case) joke.
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 11:03 AM : NeoCon, no point sending people to France, they won't be able to tap into the welfare state, that is only for citizens and political refugees. The USA is (as of yet) not recognized as a country who's citizens can claim to be political refugees. To become a citizen and get welfare is not as easy as most people think. Same as it is for europeans going to the US. They do not hand out european or american citizenships like they used to.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 11:08 AM : I love how you assume that the president makes all these decisions. Both Clinton and Bush have advisors and council, how inform them as to what the right responses are. I'm sure had the Military and other advisors told Clinton to go to war, he would have. You see, going to war is not a unilateral decision ... oh wait ..
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 11:12 AM : Yup, shoot at anything that moves and is muslim. we'll ask questions lates. FYI the first attack on WTC had nothing to do with Osama, was some other deranges muslim cleric, and they thwarted the demolishon of the tunnerls and the BW bridge by the same group. (During that time your beloved idiot was hanging out with the Bin Ladens and having a swell old time) There was an investigation. as there was about the attacks on the embassys and troops. It is just that the CIA and consorted "inteligence" agency's did not get enough info to warant any real action. They had however enough info by the time George came into office, but he was to busy playing with his toes.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 11:26 AM : Of course you realise that Bush was originally against the Patriot act, The Department of Homeland Security and the 9/11 commission ... only changed his mind about them because he caved into outside pressures ... I guess you could say he's a bit of a flip-flopper
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 11:39 AM : I never saw Mr. Moore's movie(s), I guess I just read less censored newspapers than you do, and don't rely on some "group" to digest the news for me and present it in easy to swallow doses.
If you are fighting terrorist, what the hell are you doing in Iraq?
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 1:12 PM : Who is talking about brainwashing here? And what has Bush done so well then?
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 2:09 PM : I have to ask, because I have not seen any evidence of it myself ... What exactly has Bush done that could be considered "good"?
Sucker who voted for him Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 2:22 PM : I had a job before Bush, so had a lot of people, now I don't. Economy bust buddy.
Had to sell house, could not make payments, struggling to pay rent now.
What Tax break, that pittyfull $45 I'll get out of the $trillion? Get real dumbass, we're not rich enough.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 2:32 PM : I have to ask as "sucker" did: What tax break? I'm not a millionaire, I don't get a tax break. Oh sure, there is that child credit thing ... but that hardly makes up for the money that parents have to spend on children in the first place. As for those of us without children, no tax credit.
As a matter of fact, last year I had to pay taxes, it was only $30, but it was still a debt, not a credit.
So, what bush is doing well is really nothing different that any other president. AS the person above mentioned, we had work before bush, it's not like he makes that possible. No, we haven't been attacked, not yet. So basically the good that bush has done is that he hasn't ruined the country? That's rather warped.
See, I was expecting examples of great things that have happened during his reign, uh, I mean adminitration. Such health care for all this countries citizens, better test scores in our young people etc. But I guess I should just accept that the status quo hasn't change. Wow, keep reaching for the mountain tops George!!
Sucker who voted for him Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 2:43 PM : Forgot to ask, what about my retirement, now that he is going to fuck arround with social security and all that?
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:13 PM : Nobody here is arguing about having to work. I'm sure none of us expect to be handed money. But as citizens we should all be entitled to health care. Especially the very old and the very young, who cannot fend for themselves.
The whole idea that you gleaned the idea that we don't want to work from our comments, proves that you didn't read them in the first place.
As for defending our interests overseas .. well, I disagree. The only interest we have in the war in Iraq is oil. The soldiers we have over there are dying for money (the rich peoples money), they are not dying for freedom.
Bush and his advisors should do something to fix social security. But what is he doing? Will it acutally work? This all remains to be seen. I personally don't care, because I have my own financial plans for my old age.
Sucker who voted for him Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:28 PM : You're a bit late with that, got that one already. And very hard te be fat on your generous benefits.
Well your next, I will keep a spot for you under the overpass!
Timmy Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:37 PM : Wo Ha!
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:39 PM : Hey Timmy! "Wo Ha!"? Translate!
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:52 PM : Unemployment office's post: Compasionate Conservatism and Moral Values in action! Thanks for making my point for me!
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 3:56 PM : Hey Nony! I'm hoping that one day Americans will realise that socialism isn't a bad word. How can taking care of a citizens basic needs be bad? Perhaps, as an American, I have a unique perspective as I did like the UK. I dunno. Maybe people need to break boundaries and experience other cultures.
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:13 PM : Where did socialism fail? I presently reside in a "socialist" country surrounded by socialist countries...they all seem to be doing quite well. No danger of 99% of the wealth being owned by 1% of the people as is going to happen in the USA.
Mr Unepmloyment Office, there will always be people who abuse the system, but so do they in the USA. And not all people are lazy drugged up baby machines, I think you will be surprised to find out how many are actually decent people fallen on very hard times. Hope for you you don't get a pink slip one of these days.
Alice, nothing like seeing both systems in action. At least then one can truly compare. Guess we are in an envious position here.
Someone Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:21 PM : Well, whoever he is, he has the Dumbass part right anyway.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:26 PM : I will simply repeat what "someone" said. This was exactly what I was going to say:
"England, Canada, The Netherlands, France, all of Scandinavia, (shall we continue the list?) are all socialist democracies and they all have higher standards of living than the US. Their people are better educated, they have a better, cheaper heath care system, they live longer, their children are healthy, they have superior pulic transportation systems, very low crime rates..... Yeah, I guess that socialism just can't work."
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:27 PM : Hey Mr Unemployment office!! It's more than obvious that "sucker" lives in the US. I'm not sure how you could have missed that ... I mean, he did say that he voted for Bush.
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:33 PM : Dear Dumbass, what a heap of bull! What does it matter how many people this country has set on the moon using german techno? or that it is home to the 2nd oldest university in the world, or that if gave per capita 6 times what the USA gave for Tsunami aid. And if it weren't for the good Ole US of A waiting so long before it got itself involved in WWII the war, it would have been over before it started. (you guys came this close to supporting the germans, thank goodness for the japanese!) This "if it were not for us you'd all speak german" is getting a bit tired you know. Are the people here supposed to be "eternally gratefull" for that, and just lie back and let us walk all over them then? We got a good deal of nuclear stuff plonked here in these countries, even if they did not like it, and that war thing, they paid us back for it you know, the marshal plan was nothing but a high intrest loan. And good for us, it broke England as a world power, giving us the opportunity to rule the world!
How many people have the USA realy liberated then?
(hey, I only live here, leaving the states does not automatically take away my citizenship you know)
Someone Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:40 PM : Who creates the most garbage and polution in the world?
Mr. Fuckhead Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:40 PM : I guess you mouthed the words but didn't mean them. Oh well. Some people want handouts, but I guess they're picky about where it comes from.....
Good luck to you sir!! Mr. Fuckhead has to get back to work!!
Someone Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:42 PM : Michael Moore creates the most garbage and pollution in the world.
Someone Else Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:42 PM : I wish you'd stop talking to yourself "Someone". It scares me.
Nony Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:42 PM : That is because bush gives him the opportunity! So indirectly...
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:43 PM : Well excuse me for misreading, Unemployment. Just because I made a mistake I'm a fool, huh? Gee, thanks for your judgement. I hadn't been judge by a complete stranger today .. now I feel so much better.
Life Guard Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:48 PM : Alice, I see you snuck back in the deep end. Please get out!!
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:49 PM : And why don't you go fuck yourself. If you don't like what I have to say, or just plain old think I'm stupid, fine ... but you have no right to tell me where and when to post.
Daft Gunther Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:52 PM : God, Oh please do come down! Can I have a signature then? Please?
Life Guard Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:53 PM : Alice, I will through you a life vest. Here it comes Baby cakes.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:56 PM : Don't call me "Baby cakes" you sexist piece of shit. Call your wife/girlfriend whatever you like, but don't you dare use those words with me.
Golly Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:56 PM : As Timmy might say"Where is Sky" to help clean this mess up?
Life Guard Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:57 PM : Sorry Honey Muffin.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 4:58 PM : The only person in this world with permission to use that kind of language with me is my husband. You're not him, so stop it. But of course you won't, because you're trying to get a rise out of me. Mission accomplished! Do you feel better about yourself now?
Hell Patriot, I thought you were more clever than that. I'm sure you have better ways to insult someone.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 5:12 PM : I know exactly who you are. As to why you're hiding it, I have no idea why you're hiding it.
Besides, a woman wouldn't call me "baby cakes".
Alice Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 5:21 PM : Maybe, maybe not. But I'll bite ... are you female?
codewolf Wrote the following on 01/10/2005 9:57 PM : Anarchy? Hell, this is the way I like it! Look, this is the internet folks.
I do think this has become one of the most commented on stories on here.
Patriot Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 09:13 AM : I think I really understand the definition of torn now. On one hand I'm a little pissed that Alice thinks it was me jabbing at her. But on the other hand, it's kind of prolific to think any and all comments she disagrees with, she automatically thinks their mine!! Sweet!! Now I really can be two places at once!!
Alice Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 09:37 AM : Oh bullshit patriot. That's the thing about having a distinct personality and writing style. We can always tell when it you. These particular comments were classic patriot.
Patriot Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 10:24 AM : Here in Los Angeles were I live, about 10 to 12 years ago, there was this kid from East LA named Chaka. Pronounced as it's written. This dude would write his name in spray paint (commonly referred to as "tagging") on almost every LA City wash, caltrans exit sign, you name it. It got to the point that the police went to the media and requested the publics help in catching the dude. It backfired!! They started catching teenagers in the act of writing out "Chaka", on concrete overpasses, flood drains - you name it, and they'd catch more then one teenager a night! Chaka got his wish - his name almost everywhere, and somehow the police (indirectly) helped him do it.
Are you going to help me be the first internet "Chaka" Alice?
Alice Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 10:27 AM : Yes patriot, that's exactly what I'm doing. There is nothing more I want in this world than for you to be famous.
Timmy Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 10:56 AM : Pat_Riot, people live in LA???
Timmy Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 11:14 AM : I was just in Santa Monica...they had a 'tsunami' of bums! Cripes there was one in every bench.
Alice Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 11:14 AM : A fine example of why I don't live in CA. I mean, there are some great tech jobs for Darren, but that place is just too fucked up. Then again, Florida is no peach either. I miss New England .. specifically Cambridge, MA. Great town, great people .. and great book shops.
Thomas Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 11:29 AM : So, ya think that poor codewoof is working today?
Alice Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 11:32 AM : I would think so.
codewolf Wrote the following on 01/11/2005 7:46 PM : I'm working every day now! I think I like the freedom of unemployment better, but I also like having a paycheck again!
