They are ending late fees, but if you exceed the one week rental period, they charge you full retail for the movie/game, less the rental fee. If you then return the media, they will credit your credit card but charge you a restocking fee. In other worlds, nothing is changing except the hype. The stupidity of this is that the new policy will increase the number of credit card transactions and, therefor, their cost. Someone in sales and marketing need to loose his/her job for being a moron.
Netflix is eating Blockbuster (aka Lackluster) lunch and they are loosing ground. They don't need all those video stores anymore and they are loosing money. They are trying to cover this by dreaming up some hat tricks.
