Hiding the Bad News
If you blinked, you would have missed news of a Pentagon "strategic" report to Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld revealing that U.S. actions "have not only failed, they may also have achieved the opposite of what they intended."
I can already hear the conservatives here say... they're Canadian, what do they know...

The departing CIA chief of the Baghdad office in his final report this week (required when there's a change of this type) pretty much said the same thing. He also warned that the security situation in Iraq is deteriorating rapildy, that the insurgency is alive, well, and better organized and that things are going to get a lot worse. His report will go unheeded, but later Bush, Inc. will blame the problems in Iraq on faulty intelligence, just as he did about 911 and the WMDs and Saddam/bin Laden connection. Military commanders and presidnets have a long history of ignoring intelligence if it gets in the way of what they want to do. Then, when the shit hits the fan, they blame the intelligence community, because they know that it cannot defend itself without compromising their operations of commmitting treason.
