The American public is about to be washed out by the media and they don't know it. For the first time in any American election, the decision is being made by the media. Sure, you could say that  the media had a say in the 2000 election, but that was the first time that the the media took a BIG part in the election. Look, right now most of the people you know get their opinions from TV. Just ask, Ask what TV channel they watch, ask why they have the views they have, most people will respond with some comment including " I saw or heard this"" on TV.

People watch TV, more to the extent than they did in any other election. People don't vote for a candidate anymore based on opinion, the vote based on public opinion, and where do they get that?

The media is presenting an opinion to be eaten up by the people. This is bad. Can it be stopped? No. The media has taken over the elections as we know it. the people are controlled by the media and vote based on public opinion that is controlled by the media.

Basically, the US election is controlled by the US media.

There is no hope anymore, people are swayed by it, stupid people, and there are a lot of them. We have no hope to have a true election based on issues anymore.

We need a civil war to correct things. WHAT! Am I crazy!? No, I've not lost it, but I do think that the populous has lost it, has been swayed by the media a bit too much a bit too far and I think that the people in America deserve more than what we have now.

Bet you're glad there are still people who don't watch television. Like me and my wife. We just have no interest in it, if we ever get time.

You have a valid point, thouh not all of us let the boob toob program our minds for us. What is scarely is that resources where the vast majority of Americans get thier TV news are owned my a mere three large media conglomerates. The Repos love to make a lot of noise about the "liberal media," but but the media is by and large far from liberal anymore. They report and spin the news the way they are told to report and spin by those in the boardroom and by the advertisers. Moreover, the Bush administration has been carefully controlling access to government resources and personnel so that it is nearly impossible for anyone to get any evidence of its wrongdoing. It has blantantly manipulated the media. If a reporter protests, his credentials are pulled.

All this media conspiracy crap cracks me up. I worked at CNN for seven years, and not once did I see a story get spiked or changed because of some supervising producer's ideaology. Not once. The most important thing was always to get both sides of the story, keep it under three minutes, and do it with a bare minimum of expense. In fact, the whole Newsource operation (which syndicates CNN stories to local affiliates) creates a situation where packages needed to be bland and right down the middle -- they had to play in both New York and Birimingham and come off as being a part of the local news. The moral is: people see their own biases in a truly balanced report.
