That is apparently what the Los Angeles Film Festival intends to do with Fredrik Gerttenâ€™s documentary of that title, which is set to screen at the festival on June 20.The film, with considerable empathy, chronicles the struggle of workers who, with the help of a Los Angeles lawyer, Juan Dominguez, sued companies they claim poisoned them with pesticides on plantations in Central America. But, as The Los Angeles Business Journal reports in its June 8-14 issue, Mr. Dominguez was found in April by Judge Victoria G. Chaney of Superior Court in Los Angeles to have engaged in fraud by orchestrating false testimony from plaintiffs in an attempt to wring money from Dole, a big grower.
