The Evolution Of Old John McCain - Time has an interesting interview up today with John McCain. The Republican candidate, who used to be famous for his hours long back and forth's with press-reporters, answering all questions honestly and not afraid to laugh at gentle jibes from the press pool, has been uncharacteristically scarce. This from the candidate who once said when asked if he could keep such an open line with the media said, “You think I could survive if I didn’t? We’d never be forgiven … I’d have to hire a food taster, somebody to start my car in the morning.”That open attitude may be why TIME was so excited when granted an interview with the candidate, and so dissapointed afterwards:
