Internet in Argentina - study and analysis of gov't policy - As in the rest of the world, the Internet has found a receptive audience in South America. The firm Nazca, in a recently released document, says that although South America currently has only 8.5 million Internet users, usage of the Internet increased by 788 percent from 1995 to 1997.1 It also speculates that the number of Latin American Web sites soon should reach 500,000, and the number of users, 34 million. PricewaterhouseCoopers is calling Latin America "the next frontier on the Internet.2
