CC, I'm surprised you're so bigoted on the issue. No matter... you and warthog are in the minority in recognizing that a person's mind makes up who they are... you guys are arguing along the same lines that say that a quadriplegic is not a person because of their deformities. With a physical deformity, though, you do the right thing: You look at that person's mind to determine who they are. You should be doing the same thing with transgendered people (or just plainly admit that you're a hypocrite) simply because it's not the body that determines who they are but rather the mind.
The sensationality of this comes from the fact that men don't have children (in this manner) so we have a glaring contradiction of choices and how that's resolved. You can say all you want that this is celebrating a mental illness, but in the end, all the publicity on this will do at least one thing: help others going through similar identity issues think through the problem and reach a solution.
I hope you guys fall off your chairs the day a doctor successfully transplants a uterus into a man and he carries to term.
