Linux is about where DOS was in 1985. It takes a programmer or a LAN administrator a week to install a router, when anybody can do it in Windows in 5 minutes. Read the Linux forums.

Linux runs fine out of the box, but if you want any changes, like a new piece of hardware, it's a nightmare.

If you want to spend many hours screwing around with your computer instead of using it, get Linux.
