I however do not remember the 1950's Mike Hammer series. I cannot remember a bad character portrayal.

The reason you cannot remember it, was that the Mike Hammer series did not air in the 1950s. It ran for one season on CBS in 1984-85 and was summarily cancelled because it sucked so bad. Mickey Spillane, the hack pulp writer created Mike Hammer in the 1950s.

I forgot about the "The Nightstalker". Their were so few good shows in the 70's. If I remember it correctly he played a reporter that was always chasing vampire stories.
