Microsoft Develops BitTorrent Clone - Microsoft wants in on the BitTorrent file-sharing technology, a technology that has quickly become one of biggest file-sharing methods since Kazaa. Microsoft plans to take some of the action away from BitTorrent when they launch a new piece of software called Avalanche. Much like how the BitTorrent system operates, Avalanche will allow users to download a file from many different users at one time.

Not a good mix IMO.

I don't see a problem with this. BitTorrent was never intended to be used as a protocol to transfer illegal copies of media, but rather a innovative way of distributing bandwidth. If M$ wants to reinvent BitTorrent, so be it. If they don't open the protocol, it'll be used only within M$ circles.
